Originally from South Carolina, Cristina Wright (she/they) is an explorative artist and collector currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Wright intersects narratives from Southern memorabilia, the natural world, and generational tales through photography and textiles.

‘I See You in Me’ is a personal reckoning and recollection of tradition in America. Through photos taken in the Carolinas, collages made from NatGeo magazines and postcards from the early 20th century, Wright revisits the small beauties of the American South and the nuances of race. Motifs of family, religion and nature are found in between textiles becoming a journal of history and remnants of Wright’s upbringing.
